We’re a little obsessed with Micro Mini Highland Cattle, and honestly, we don’t mind admitting it.
 
Six years ago we brought our first herd home to Shawinigan, QC. Eight cows and two bulls, all imported from Missouri, USA. We fell in love with their shaggy coats, calm eyes, and that gentle, hardy Highland spirit. Today that small start has grown into a herd of 72 micro miniature Highlands grazing across 4,500 acres of green pasture. And we’re just getting started sharing them across Canada.
 
This isn’t new to us. Our whole family has raised standard Highland cattle for 25 years. We know the breed inside out. But a few years back we shifted focus to the miniature side. Same heart, same hardiness, just scaled down. They demand less feed, lower vet costs, and way less space. That makes them perfect for small homesteads, hobby farms, and families who want the Highland experience without needing hundreds of acres.

HOW THE RESERVATION PROCESS WORKS:

RESERVATION AND SHIPPING 

To reserve any calf that will be shipped, a 50% reservation deposit is now required. This deposit secures your spot and lets us know you’re serious about bringing a lovely mini highland calf home. Without this deposit, we won’t hold a calf for you, no exceptions. The remaining amount is paid after delivery or during pick-up on the farm.
 
Once we receive your deposit, we’ll swiftly get everything sorted:
 
– Preparation and reservation process
– Paperwork
– Veterinary checkups
 
This usually takes 3 to 4 days, and we’ll work with you to arrange shipping to your address or a farm pickup at your convenience.

On pickup day, our team will meet you at a designated location and drive you to the farm. Our veterinarian will accompany you to answer any questions and provide guidance on calf care.

Our Micro minis will stay around 36 inches or shorter at the hip.
Our cattle have gentle dispositions and distinct personalities. Being small they have less impact on the land, eating less than their full size cousins, weighing less, and are easier to handle (it is not unusual for them to love being groomed), plus their sweet natures enable them to be easily halter trained. They come in a variety of colours – ranging in a variety from red, yellow, white, black, silver and dun.

Mature size does vary. Micro minis will stay around 36 inches or shorter at the hip. Miniatures will remain between 36-42 inches, and midsize miniatures will reach 42-48 inches. At full mature size, our micro miniatures weigh anywhere between 400-500 lbs.
 
All our calves are registered, vet checked with 1 year health guarantee. Prices of our calves includes vaccinations, chondro and horn status testing, health papers to travel to different cities and countries in Europe without being quarantined. Micro or miniature Highlands can easily be raised on a ½ acre pasture or smaller if you supplement with grain.
Their Diet consist of Grass, Hay, leaves, flowers, shrubs, browse on low hanging trees, cereal grains, or barley, wheat or corn silage.
